Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs visits National Development Corporation

Alhaj Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs visited different sections of National Development Corporation and appreciated National Development Corporation’s efforts in the development of the country.

Honorable Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhond, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs said: National Development Corporation has made great achievements in a short time, and has shown the capabilities of the Islamic system and Afghans to the world in the best way.

Honorable Mullah Abdul Ghani, Baradar Akhand, assured the comprehensive cooperation of the leadership of the Islamic Emirate with this Corporation.

Abdul Rahman Attash, CEO of the National Development Corporation, appreciated the visit of Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, and assured that the National Development Corporation has comprehensive plans in the development and self-sufficiency of the country, and work is going on, on some of them.

Construction of a five-bed clinic in UNOCA Camp

A UNOPS five-bed clinic for COVID-19 was constructed with the funding of the United Nations in the UNOCA camp in Kabul. The construction was done by the Housing Construction Corporation, National Development Corporation. Pre-fabricated parts were used to construct the clinic within one month.

Provincial Council of Baghlan Recognizes the Efforts of Northern Coal Director

The Directorate of the Provincial Council of Baghlan officially recognized and commemorated the effort sand honest hard work of the Director of Northern Coal and Acting Director of Ghouri Cement Mr Riazuddin Sharifi. Mr Sharifi has played a fundamental role in upgrading the extraction process of the Northern Coal Corporation and the elevation of quality and quantity of the cement produced at Ghouri Cement Factory. He has also constructed a park for the local community around the Ghouri Cement Factory.

The leadership of the council praised Mr Sharifi for all his efforts by awarding him a certificate of appreciation and promised him support during his coming years. Both corporations have seen considerable improvement in quality and work since Mr Sharifi took over.

Initiation of Construction Work of School in Parwan

Groundbreaking for a school in the village of Toghbori, located 12 km away from Parwan city, was started in the month of July. The building will contain 16 classrooms and would accommodate 800 students from a village of 40,000 inhabitants. Previously, the students of the school were said to be studying underneath the open-sky due to the absence of infrastructure. Afghani Construction Enterprise will be heading the project which would cost AFN 37 million. The works are set to be completed within three months.

Site Visit by Director of Production Coherence and Development and Director of Arzaq Corporation

Waheed Rahimdil, director of Production Coherence and Development and Qiyamuddin Kamali, Director of Arzaq Corporation visited the factories of fruit and vegetables as well as the Jabal Siraj factory in Parwan Province. After visiting the sites, the directors met with Brigadier General Fazal-din Ayyar, the Governor of Parwan, to discuss corporation and support that the Governor’s office and NDC can provide each other. The Governor praised the work of the National Development Corporation in the different sectors that it was currently engaged in and promised his support for upgrading the cement production process at the Jabal Siraj factory. The directors gave the Governor an overview of future potential works as well as possible upgrades meant for the Jabal Siraj factory.

Public Work for 41,000 Citizens

During the difficult times of the COVID pandemic, the government of Afghanistan took active steps in ensuring economic and food security for the people most affected by the pandemic.

The government of Afghanistan delegated the task of generating 41,000 casual jobs for the citizens of Kabul province to the National Development Corporation. These casual jobs were paid at a daily wage rate of 300 Afghani. The jobs are designed to respect the social distancing and health protocols required at such a time and employee citizens for a year. The projects revolved around basic infrastructure projects, keeping in mind the limitations with regards to build equipment and machinery. Canals and water resources were reinforced and cleaned through this public work. NDC has managed to employ more than half of the planned total and is working hard at hiring further people for the work required.
