02 June 2025 – During his visit to the northern provinces, Mr. Abdul Rahman Attash, CEO of the National Development Corporation, visited the ongoing works of the Qush Tepa Canal and evaluated the technical and practical aspects of this major national project.
Mr. Attash visited various parts of the canal from the zero point to Andkhoy district of Faryab province, where he discussed the nature of the work with the officials, engineers, and workers and provided them with relevant instructions.
He first visited the canal’s dam along the Amu River, assessed the progress of the work in the field, and recommended to the officials to pay specific attention to the efficiency and rapidity of the work.
He also visited the construction of 11 important bridges and water control structures along the canal route and emphasized that the work on these bridges and water control structures should be carried out on time, by quality and safety standards.
Mr. Attash also closely visited the excavation work of the second phase of the Qush Tepa Canal and, while praising the ongoing work, emphasized maintaining technical standards, rapidity, and environmental safety during the work.
Mr. CEO also spoke to the workers, appreciated their efforts, and stated that the success of major projects depends on the efforts of nationalist and courageous workers.
Taking into account the environmental issues, equipment, human resources, and technical conditions, he advised all relevant officials to keep their work processes organized and identify and solve existing problems promptly.
It is worth mentioning that currently, nearly, 2,000 machineries are working rapidly on the Qush Tepa Canal. 90 percent excavation work of the second phase and 79.5 percent work of the dam have been completed. In addition to that, currently, work is ongoing on 11 bridges and water control structures.
